Who can enter?
This competiton is open to all age groups and professions.
AD Time Span
The advertisement must be a 30 second block, not including the pre or post advertisement detail as outlined in the Format requirements below.
Important Dates

Competition entries can be sent in from Monday 1st of June from 9am through to 5pm, Monday the 31st of August.

For the most viewed on Youtube competition all views between 12am on the 1st of June through to 23:59 on the 31st of August will be counted.
Format
The BELOW formats (written in pink so they are really hard to see!) no longer apply, just send your video in whatever format you can manage, just make it the best quality you can manage and have fun! - just make sure its 30 seconds long
IMPORTANT. The finished video must be handed in on Mini-DV or DVD-Rs. DVD-Rs , if you do a DVD test it on a few machines to ensure it works properly
The finished video must also be loaded onto youtube with the html address of the video on youtube pasted into the area provided on the entry form

Please make sure you use a clean tape or DVD for your video.
Your advertisement must adhere to the following specifications:
Prior to the 30 second advertisement you must have:
1. One minute colour bars and tone for more information and help with this use the below site:

2. A minimum of 15 seconds of ID (or slate) *1
Your ID must include the following and if you wish can also be inserted onscreen for a maximum of 2 seconds :(this part is inclusive of your advertisement time, i.e. this will take up two seconds of your 30 second ad)
- The video title
- The director's name
- The writer's name
3. Two seconds exactly of black and silence
4. The commercial content *2
After the 30 second advertisement you must have:
5. Ten seconds minimum black and silence
Notes:
*1. ID is just that. It may include an optional countdown from ten as part of the ID but the commercial identification must be present up until two seconds prior to the start of the commercial. Aspect ratio information must also be included on the ID Board.
*2. The commercial content should commence at exactly 01:00:00:00 time code or the unofficial 00:01:30:00 standard if the production house's editing system is not capable of handling a zero time code edit.
AUDIO
The following information should be noted:
1. The audio is to be either stereo (left audio on track 1, right audio on track 2) or dual mono with both track 1 and track 2 identical
Commercials containing extraneous audio on track 2 not intended for broadcast will not be accepted
ASPECT RATIO
Advertisements should be supplied in 16:9 FHA (4:3 graphic safe).

Make sure you keep a copy of your final masterpiece. If we cannot view what you send in you may be given an opportunity to represent your video
People, Places and Music
All cast and production crew need to sign the release form for the handover of any creative rights to the advertisement.
Animation
Animation is allowed providing it follows the TV CAB rules
Submitting Your Video
Make sure you deliver or courier your video/DVD to:

All DVD's and Videos must be labelled with:-
- The person's name who registered.
- The Director's Name,
- The Writer's Name.
- The title of the video as stated on the entry form
Check List
- Fill out online registration (remember the name of the person who registered as this is the name we will use for your entry)
- Make sure you have received a high resolution copy of the Buy NZ Made logos. If there was a problem with this, please contact tsnow@buynz.org.nz
- Send inwith your video signed release forms for all people, places and music in your finished advertisement. (get releases for everything)
Music
Make sure you do not use any copy-writed music
